Located 1.5 kms from the town of Copán Ruinas, this archaeological site is the biggest source of information about the Mayan civilization. In 1980 it was declared a World Heritage by the UNESCO, and it has been considered by many archaeologists to be the Paris of their time.
The most attractive and important sites that you’ll be able to see when you visit the park:
Las Sepulturas, Los Sapos, the Mayan stelae located along the valley and its two museums: The Regional Museum of Archeology and the Museum of the Mayan Sculpture.
